In the upper right-hand corner, use search bar to type-in your person, place or era to see what's available.
PLEASE READ!!!!! If you find an article from one of these search engines above, you may assume that it is "credible", and therefore, you do not need to complete the "Checklist" for it. BUT! If you choose to use 'Google', 'Bing' or another search engine instead, you must critically analyze each website using the THE CHECKLIST before relying on it for research information.
Remember!Once you find an article and information that is credible AND relates to any of your subtopics, you'll want to:
Make sure! Read through it carefully to make sure it contains information that is relevant.
Print. Check "Print Preview" first to make sure you're not printing out unnecessary amounts of paper.
Only print what you need.
Look for a printer icon or a "print" command on the webpage--if you can find one, it will usually include the citation information at the bottom of the page later. (Trust me, you'll be happy later that you did this!)
Save the citation information (author, title, web address, etc.). Recommended: copy/paste the citation info (at least the web address!) onto a word document and save it to your jump/flash drive.
Read it again, even more carefully!!!!
use a highlighter to highlight info that is directly related to your subtopics
Transfer the information you highlighted onto your Research Organizer handout(Person, Place, Era)
eventually, this information will be transferred again into its proper format on note cards.
